Meet the Designer
Hi, I’m Shauna – Author of the Jade Haven blog! Here is a little about me and my mission.
I am an eco-conscious, professional Interior Designer from Wexford, Ireland.
I have over 12 years experience in the Interior Design/Architecture industry across multiple sectors (residential and commercial) and regions (EMEA, US & Australia).
By day, I work full time for Unispace on exciting commercial design projects across the globe. I have led the design on projects such as this one (Irish Fit Out Awards Finalist 2020) and this one (Irish Fit Out Awards Finalist 2019).
By night, I am developing this blog to share helpful interior design advice with a focus on promoting wellness and sustainability. I focus on natural, non-toxic materials and home furnishing products that do not cost the earth.
I am obsessed with researching and trialling sustainable and healthy products in my own interior design projects. So I thought, why not share this info with the world?
I am by no means Zero Waste – Taking flights is a part of my job (well it was, pre-Corona!) and I do happen to enjoy a bit of travel for pleasure. I also have a particular affinity for buying home furnishings (I have been curbing this by being more mindful with my purchases!).
I am simply striving to do my best and to make as many eco-friendly changes as possible – for the good of myself and for the environment. And I would love to encourage you to do the same 😊
Where did the name Jade Haven come from?
The colour JADE – a beautiful shade of green – is a nod to ‘green’ thinking. JADE is known to signify purity, nourishment, balance and harmony.
HAVEN means a place of safety or refuge.
Combined, they sum up what I believe every interior design scheme should embody.
